Installation in ducts
CAUTION: Risk of cuts from metal housing plates with sharp edges. Use personal protective equipment (cut-resistant gloves) for installation work.
NOTICE: Risks of leakages if unit is not sealed tightly enough. Screw the fan firmly to the duct system at all flange holes. Fit suitable insulation, sound-absorbing and installation materials.
- For wall/ceiling attachment, fit FUI v mounting feet.
- If necessary, install a GFI v counter flange or GSI v counter socket on the two ducts.
- Transport the fan to the installation site → chapter .
Recommendation: Attach suitable chains/ropes/lifting gear all around the housing and carefully transport the fan to the installation site using a crane, for example. NOTICE: The fan must not be deformed/warped during transport as this can lead to imbalance of the impeller. Observe the details in Transport, storage and the safety instructions supplement. - Screw the DAR fan tightly to the duct system using the ELI v flexible couplings. Screw all flange holes. Observe the tightening torques. Ensure seal integrity.
- With a free inlet, also fit an SGCI v or SGRI v protective grille as protection against accidental contact and drawing in.
- Fit suitable insulation and sound-deadening material.
If necessary, install additional accessories, e.g., a GVI v housing extension, an ADI v suction nozzle, RSI duct silencer, RSKI duct silencer with baffle or GPI vibration damper.
