Electrical connection

DANGER Danger to life from electric shock.

  1. Prior to accessing the connection terminals, switch off all supply circuits. Switch off mains fuse, secure against being accidentally switched back on and position a visible warning sign.

NOTICE Risk of damage to unit in the event of short circuits.

  1. Insulate any unnecessary cable cores.

Always note the relevant specifications for electrical installations and when fitting equipment. In Germany, observe DIN VDE 0100 and the corresponding parts in particular.

Procedure

  1. Switch off the mains fuse and secure it against being switched on again. Fit warning sign.
  2. Remove the terminal box cover [3].
  3. NOTICE Danger of short-circuits and damage to the unit.

Consequences: Water can enter the terminal box if the power cable is inserted incorrectly or if the sealing element (self-sealing grommet, cable grommet, cable screw connection, etc.) is not fitted correctly.

    1. Attach the sealing element so that it tightly seals the power cable.
  4. Attach a suitable sealing element (self-sealing grommet, cable grommet, cable screw connection, etc.).
  5. Guide the power cable into the terminal box such that the sealing element completely encloses the cable sheathing. Seal the sealing element on site if necessary.
  6. Wire the fan electrically at the terminal block in accordance with Circuit diagrams. Observe a tightening torque of 0.7 Nm for the screws.
  7. NOTICE Damage to unit if external control device is not authorised.

    1. Only connect control devices with a current-dependent protective device.
  8. Electrically wire the external control device to the terminal block in accordance with the Circuit diagrams. Observe a tightening torque of 0.7 Nm for the screws.
  9. Attach the on-off switch. This is to be provided by the customer.
  10. If necessary, install optional accessory components. For approved accessory components Catalogue, Internet.
  11. NOTICE Damage to the unit, due to moisture, if the terminal box cover is not properly fitted [3].

The seal of the terminal box cover [3] must be flush with the terminal box all the way around.

    1. Tighten the two screws with a tightening torque of 1.0 Nm.
  12. Fit the terminal box cover [3].
