Installation of the cable grommet

Observe the applicable regulations for electrical installations, e.g. DIN EN 50110-1 and DIN EN 60204-1, in Germany in particular VDE 0100 with the corresponding parts.

DANGER due to electric shock, fire or short circuit if not observed.

DANGER due to falling when working on ladders/at heights.

Use suitable ladders/climbing aids and secure their position. Work in pairs. Ensure that there is no one else in the working area. Protect yourself from electricity. Secure the ladder against bumping, knocking over and tipping.

ATTENTION: Ensure degree of protection IP X5, insert cable grommet as follows.

  3. Make the 3 dowel holes (arrows). Observe the installation position "TOP". Use suitable wall anchors. Ensure horizontal alignment.
  4. Select cable grommet and prepare for installation.
    Flush-mounted: Carefully press the cable grommet [3] out of the housing, remove and shorten as described below.
    Surface-mounted: Drill out housing segment [1] (Ø 11 mm). Remove the cable grommet [4] from the housing and shorten as described below. Leave cable grommet [3] in the housing.
  6. Cut off the cap of the cable grommet so that it tightly encloses the power cable. Cut off at least 5 mm of the cap (the power cable can be bent better and the electronics cover can be fitted correctly). If necessary, seal the cable grommet.

  7. DANGER due to short circuit/fire. If the cable grommet is inserted incorrectly or the cable sheath is too long, the electronics cover cannot be fitted flat and tight. Avoid moisture ingress. Short circuit and fire hazard if moisture penetrates.

    Keep the cable sheathing as short as possible so that the grommet seals tightly. The grommet must be firmly fitted in the housing, seal additionally, if necessary.

  8. Guide the power cable through the cable grommet such that the cable grommet completely encloses the cable sheathing.
  9. Insert the cable grommet with power cable at item [1] or [3] correctly into the housing. If necessary, seal the cable grommet.
  10. Insert the housing into the wall sleeve/wall breakthrough and fasten with 3 screws. Observe the installation position "TOP". Do not insert the housing such that it is twisted or crushed. Make sure you use mounting material which is sized for the purpose.
