Fault rectification

Fault finding and repairs only permissible when carried out by qualified electricians.

When the unit is at a standstill, check whether the thermal overload protection of the motor has reacted. Once the thermal overload protection has cooled down, switch on the fan and check for unusual noise.

Malfunction

Cause, measures

Fan does not switch on.

No mains voltage. Check whether the mains fuse has failed. Switch on if necessary.

Thermal overload protection of the motor has triggered.

Motor too hot. Wait until motor and temperature limiter have cooled. Cool-down time can be up to 30 minutes. Only then switch the fan on again.

Fan does not switch on.
Impeller not turning.

Check impeller. Ensure that the impeller is not blocked by foreign bodies. Switch off the fan, secure it against being switched back on and clean it. Check the fan for unusual noises during operation.

Deposits on the impeller and in the housing caused by dust in the air.

Operation without air filter. Install air filter in duct system. Never clean the interior of the fan with water or a high-pressure cleaner.
