Note when walling/insulating
The mounting sleeve is set in PU adhesive foam or thin-bed mortar.
- Moisten the installation substrate. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's recommendations for use.
- Align the mounting sleeve horizontally, flush with the exterior wall and secure it against the pressure of the swelling PU foam.
- Align, support and weigh down the mounting sleeve with suitable chocks to prevent settlement during the curing of the PU foam.
- Wait for the adhesive to dry/set according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Leave a gap of 10 mm to the right and left between the bricks and the mounting sleeve. This simplifies the bonding/foaming process. Shorten the bricks if necessary.
- Then brick up the masonry layer to the height of the mounting sleeve.
- Fill the gap between the masonry and the mounting sleeve and the grooves on the side surfaces completely with weakly expanding PU adhesive foam.
- To compensate for brick tolerances, smaller projections of up to 15 mm can be bridged on the inside of the wall with the internal plaster frame. Alternatively, smaller projecting lengths can be corrected on the outside with the external cover or on the inside by levelling the cover frame.
ATTENTION Damage to the building/unit if the condensate drain is contaminated. Any condensate is discharged into the external cover via a condensate drain integrated into the mounting sleeve and drained off via a drip rail. Ensure that the condensate drain is not soiled during and after installation. Condensate drainage must be ensured at all times.
ATTENTION: Do not install the soffit element in combination with 100 mm thick façade thermal insulation.
