Ventilation: Operating modes

The operating mode determines the mode of operation in which the ventilation unit runs. One operating mode is always active. The selection is made on the operating unit under Setting operating mode, of the AIR@home app or the AIR@home web tool.

Operating modes

• Off (standby mode)
• Manual
• Eco mode supply air
• Eco mode exhaust air
• Auto Sensor mode

Off (standby mode) / on

If the Off operating mode is selected, the ventilation unit switches into standby mode, the fans switch off. button on the operating unit switches off.

To switch on the ventilation, press the button.

Manual operating mode

The ventilation unit runs at one ventilation level, until another ventilation level or operating mode is selected manually. During intermittent ventilation, the unit switches to intensive ventilation for a limited period of time.

In manual operation, the measurements of the internal and external humidity sensors are taken into account.

Excess humidity protection for the unit is active at all times. All measurements from internal and external humidity sensors are used for analysis. If the maximum humidity value limit is exceeded, a switch is made to intensive ventilation until the humidity is 3 % below the value limit. The ventilation level is only increased to intensive ventilation if the outside air conditions are actually suited to dehumidification.

Auto Sensor operating mode: Automatic operation with sensor control

Auto Sensor activates automatic operation with sensor control, to ensure hygienically perfect ventilation when the ambient air is polluted.

When using the optional combination sensor, the air volumes are set depending on the measured value determined by the sensor. Depending on the sensor type, the control works for all CO2 or VOC measured values linear (stepless) and for humidity linear (stepless) or stepped.

Demand-based operation (linear)

Parameter setting Combi sensor operation = linear.

In linear operation, the humidity control works continuously between the set minimum values (reduced ventilation) and maximum values (intensive ventilation).

Linear humidity-based control: In the Humidity menu, set the Rel. humidity limit value min. and max. parameters. The system controls the volumetric flow on the basis of values measured with the internal and optional external humidity sensors in a continuously variably way.

Stepped control as excess humidity protection: In the Humidity menu, specify the Rel. humidity limit value max. parameter. When the switching point is reached, the ventilation unit runs in intensive ventilation until the value is 3 % below the limit value.

Linear control based on CO2 or VOC: In the Sensors menu, set the CO2 min and max limit values and or the VOC min and max limit value parameters. The ventilation unit controls the volumetric flow on the basis of the values measured with the optional, internal CO2 and VOC combi sensors in a continuously variable way.

Eco mode supply air

Activates the energy-saving summer operation with supply air fan. The exhaust air fan is deactivated. The ventilation level is manually adjustable.

With intermittent ventilation, both fans are run in level 4 with time limits (timer interval). Connected external sensors are not taken into account. The selected ventilation level runs until it is changed again.

Potential damage from excess humidity.

The internal combi sensor offers no excess humidity protection in this operating mode. Ensure that the air can flow out through the opened or tilted window.

Eco mode exhaust air

Activates the energy-saving summer operation with exhaust air fan. The supply air fan is deactivated. The ventilation level is manually adjustable. With intermittent ventilation, both fans are run in level 4 with time limits.

In the case that the air is too humid, the excess humidity protection switches to intensive ventilation. Connected external sensors are not taken into account. Ensure that the air can flow in through the opened or tilted window.

Air-ventilated fireplace and Eco mode exhaust air operating mode: If the ventilation unit is operated in combination with a connected air-ventilated fireplace, a differential pressure switch must be installed, otherwise operation is not permitted. When operating with an air-ventilated fireplace, ensure that there is a sufficient supply air intake; open the windows for air equalisation.
