Features

  • Decentralised modular push-pull system with heat recovery for integration in suspended ceilings.
  • The highly efficient displacement ventilation ensures optimal draught-free air flow.
  • The system is designed for integration into suspended ceilings with a grid dimension of 600 x 600 mm or for installation under the ceiling.
  • Inlet/outlet diameter is 250/300 mm. Low mounting height of only 350 mm.
  • The fan unit with patented 180° reversal of rotation direction in the 3D housing guarantees optimum noise reduction and automatic air resistance regulation.
  • Modular construction with 1200 mm long individual modules.
  • All maintenance and access work can be carried out from underneath.
  • The PP+ system can be controlled either on demand, e.g. via a CO2 sensor, or manually.
  • Must be operated in pairs. Any number of device pairs can be combined.
  • By combining any number of device pairs, large volumetric air flows can be achieved at extremely quiet operation and at maximum energy efficiency.
  • Function test carried out at the factory.

Installation information

  • The device is installed under the ceiling in several individual modules, each measuring 1200 mm in length, 600 mm in width and 350 mm in height.
  • The maximum weight of a module is 50 kg.
  • The following assembly tools are necessary: ladder, scissor lift trolley/platform lift, combination laser and core drilling machine with Ø350 drill bit, as well as a drill and cordless screwdriver.
  • For mounting under the ceiling, the modules are attached using the mounting brackets provided.
  • The individual modules are screwed together using the enclosed mounting plates; the interior surfaces must be sealed with sealing strip.
  • The module series concludes with a final module.
  • For visible installation under the ceiling, the sides can be clad by the customer with decorative profiles 20–25 mm thick, which are hooked into special side profiles.

Condensate drain

  • No condensate drain required.
  • Any condensate that may accumulate in the inlet/outlet area is drained to the outside via the 3-D inlet funnel.

Approvals, certificates and guidelines

  • Compliance with the following directives: Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (including Low Voltage Directive), EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC (Regulation No. 1253/2014 – LOT6), RoHS 2 Directive 2011/65/EU.
  • Compliance with standard EN 60335-1; CE. Approvals CSA C22.2 No. 77 + CAN/CSA-E60730-1; UL 1004-7 + 60730; CCC.
  • The decentralised push-pull ventilation system is exempt from the requirements of the Model Ventilation System Directive (MLüAR); none of the requirements are imposed under Section 41 of the Model Building Code (MBO).

Housing

  • Modular housing in self-supporting frame construction.
  • The housing structure consists of galvanised sheet steel profiles lined with 30 mm insulation material.
  • Device classification A1 according to DIN 4102 (non-combustible).
  • Enclosure classification according to DIN EN 1886:
    • Heat transfer coefficient: T3
    • Thermal bridge factor: TB3
  • The exterior panels are powder coated in pure white, similar to RAL 9010.
  • Inner side: PU sound insulation material, closed-cell, easy to clean in accordance with the requirements of VDI 6022.
  • Special colours according to the RAL Classic colour scheme are possible at additional costs.
  • Smooth interior surfaces.
  • Generously sized inspection openings allow easy access from below to all internal components at maintenance work.

Fans

  • Direct-drive, EC axial compact fan with crescent-shaped blades made of composite material for optimised efficiency and minimised noise level.
  • Maintenance-free, sealed ball bearings with long-term lubrication.
  • The reversal of rotation direction of the fans is used as a shutter when the unit is stationary in the 90° position.
  • Fan impeller made of high-strength composite materials.
  • Statically and dynamically balanced impeller in accordance with DIN ISO 2190-11.
  • Vibration tested in accordance with ISO 14694, maximum vibration intensity is 3.5 mm/s.
  • Electronically commutated (EC), permanent magnet, brushless DC motor offering improved efficiency and controllability.
  • EC technology is an environmentally friendly solution that guarantees low energy consumption for control system and regulation of the operating point at volumetric flows of 10 to 100%.
  • This promotes a low noise level for improved acoustic comfort.
  • Integrated blockage protection, phase failure detection, soft start, over-temperature protection electronics, motor undervoltage failure detection, power limitation, motor current limitation.
  • Fan degree of protection: IP 54, insulation class "B", humidity (F) / environmental protection class (H) H1.

Control

  • Control is via the RLS 45 K or RLS 45 O room air control unit.
  • Demand-driven control is possible via the optional PP45 CO2 sensor.
  • Further adjustable control functions are: intensive ventilation, intermittent ventilation, quiet mode.

Application areas

  • The modular construction allows for maximum flexibility.

Panels and inspection doors

  • Visible panels are mounted along the entire length of the unit for each module as air inlet or outlet covers or as dummy covers on the bottom side.
  • Generously sized inspection openings allow for optimal access in accordance with VDI 6022 and easy access at maintenance work.
  • Panels made of galvanised sheet steel, powder coated for special protection against corrosion.

Coating

  • The panels on the bottom side are UV-resistant powder-coated in pure white, similar to RAL 9010, and offer special protection against corrosion.

Heat recovery

  • Sustainable, regenerative heat exchanger made from renewable raw materials based on FSC-certified cement-bonded wood fibre boards.
  • Alkaline environment, dimensionally stable and moisture resistant.
  • Proven safety in terms of metabolisable properties in accordance with DIN EN ISO 846 (fungal, bacterial and microbial growth) by the Ruhr Area Hygiene Institute.
  • The aforementioned material meets the requirements for microbial metabolisability in accordance with VDI 6022, Sheet 1 (01/2018) "Hygiene requirements for ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment".
  • The material does not shed fibres, as verified by the Danish Indoor Climate Product Label.
  • Classified as low-emission by the German environmental label "Der Blaue Engel" (The Blue Angel).
  • Fire resistance according to EN 13501: The fire behaviour class for the heat exchanger made of cement-bonded wood fibre boards is B-s1, d0 (flame retardant, minimal smoke development, no dripping of particles).

Night cooling function

  • Free cooling/night cooling is controlled via the RLS 45 K or RLS 45 O room air control system.

Filter

  • ISO Coarse 30% (G2) filter at the outside air inlet and ISO Coarse 45% (G3) panel filter at the exhaust air inlet.
  • The filters are always installed in front of the respective components to guarantee their protection.

Rectangular duct connection

  • Round duct connection. 1x per unit.
  • Shut-off dampers for outside air and outgoing air:
    • Outside air and outgoing air shutter integrated into fan unit as patented 3D housing with 180° reversal of rotation direction.

Technical compartment

  • Separate technical compartment with protection class IP 44, housing the fan unit and the control system.
  • Cable ends within the technical compartment with clear cable labelling at each connection point and in the connection diagram to prevent confusion.
  • The technical compartment is accessible from below. The fan unit can be removed as a whole.

Cable connection

  • Plug & Play connection: 3-pin connection on the terminal block inside the separate technical compartment.
  • Recommended residual current device: Class B or B+, min. 30 mA.

Electrical wiring

  • Complete wiring of all internal components, clear cable routing and unobstructed access to components for maintenance, as well as easy cleaning of surfaces.
